Collected only in aggregate
What schools and venues see from us is totals: how many readers opened a section, how many listings were tapped, how many inquiries were sent. No report we give anyone outside Going Global contains an individual reader’s history.
Never collected
- Precise location. The guide hands you to your device’s own maps app and never asks for your position.
- Contacts, photos, calendar, microphone, camera, health or financial data.
- Advertising identifiers. We do not track you across other apps or websites and we do not use the app for targeted advertising.
- Anything used to train an artificial-intelligence model.
Sharing
Service providers acting for us (hosting, sign-in codes, notifications, crash reporting); a school or venue when you press its inquiry button. Nothing about you is shared with an employer or relocation company. Never sold, never shared with data brokers.
The partner edition
The white-label partner edition that relocation companies and employers’ HR departments give their people collects no personal data from its readers. There is no registration and no personal account. If an edition has a login, it is an organisation login issued by the employer or relocation company; it identifies the organisation, not the person. Like any website, our host keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses, for security and troubleshooting only. We never use them to identify or track anyone. The notify-me list (website)
Separate from the app: if you ask on this website to be told when the guide is available, we keep your email address, the city you chose (if any), the page you signed up from and the date, only to send you one email on release day. It is stored on our own hosting, outside the public website, is never shared, and is deleted once that email is sent unless you ask us to keep you on it. Remove yourself at any time on the remove page or by writing to privacy@goingglobalguides.com.
The free sample chapter and the newsletter (website)
Also separate from the app: if you ask on this website for the free sample chapter, we keep your email address, the page you asked from, the date and whether you ticked the newsletter box, on the same private list. The download never depends on the newsletter, and the newsletter box is never ticked for you. Remove your address from the list and the newsletter at any time on the remove page or by writing to privacy@goingglobalguides.com.
Maps from Google
Some pages on this website offer an interactive map from Google My Maps. It loads only if you choose to open it; nothing from Google loads before that. Once you open it, Google receives your IP address and browser information, under Google’s own privacy policy. We receive nothing from it.
Deletion
In the app: Account → Delete my account. On the web: Delete your account. Deletion removes your account and everything linked to it within thirty days.
Security practices
Data is encrypted in transit; accounts use one-time sign-in codes; access is restricted to the people who need it. Full detail in the Privacy policy.
